Aerosport Products is offering switches as a compliment to our instrument panels. The switches can be backlit via LED. Switches are available in Red, White, or Black. Additionally, you can choose from our stock lettering options. Custom lettering is available, please call for a quote.

Aerosport Products offers three versions of switches that are custom manufactured to our specifications.  Each switch has one or two white LEDs.

On all three models, the contacts on the right are coupled to the LED and follow the state of the contacts on the left.  For example, if you connect 14vdc to terminal #2 and ground to terminal #7, the LED will illuminate when terminals #5 and #6 are switched together.

On the DPDT version with a single LED, with 14vdc connected to terminal #2 and ground to terminal #7, the LED will illuminate when terminals #5 and #6 are switched together.   However, when the switch connects terminals #4 and #5, no LED is illuminated.

On the DPDT version with a dual LED, with 14vdc connected to terminal #2 and ground to terminal #7, one LED will illuminate when terminals #5 and #6 are switched together.   However, when the switch connects terminals #4 and #5, the other LED is illuminated.

Some customers have requested that they would prefer that the LED is continuously lit.  You can accomplish this by connecting 14vdc to terminal #3 on the Single LED switches and to terminals, #3 and #1 on the dual LED switch. You may vary the intensity of the LEDs by connecting the LED terminal to a dimmer.

If you are connecting to a Vertical Power product (VP-X, VP-200, VP-400), you will want to use the non-powered pole to connect to your Vertical Power unit.  You will also have to run 14vdc to the other pole to power the LED.   You can also connect the power circuit to energize a bank of switches as well as a dimmer to control LED intensity.

If you don’t have a Vertical Power unit, you can use both poles of the switch to control multiple circuits.  You have to ensure that the switch is appropriately configured to your application.  Remember, that one pole is used to power the LED.  You can also attach another device on this circuit.   If you choose to install a dimmer, you will need to ensure that the dimmer circuit has no negative impact on the device you are switching on that pole.
